Public hearings during regular City Commission meetings were previously noticed and advertised to begin no earlier than 5:15 p.m. Going forward, public hearings at regular City Commission meetings will be noticed and advertised to begin at 5:05 p.m. This change will be effective Monday, July 7, 2025, and will apply to all meetings thereafter.
Regular City Commission meetings, typically scheduled for every other Monday, will still begin at 5 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall (225 4th St. N.). Changing the start time of public hearings to 5:05 p.m. will allow the Commission to begin public hearings earlier in a Commission meeting without taking up agenda items out of order while waiting for the previous public hearing start time. The City Commission approved the public hearing time change by a vote of 4-1 during the March 3, 2025, City Commission meeting.
Individuals wishing to address the Commission during a public hearing do not need to sign up in advance. Residents wanting to speak during the resident comment period at the end of City Commission meetings must sign up in advance at FargoND.gov/ResidentComment. More information about the City Commission and its meetings can be found at FargoND.gov/CityCommission.
