Fargo Cass Public Health Accepting Applications for Recovery Coach Academy

Fargo Cass Public Health is currently accepting applications for the Recovery Coach Academy (RCA). Through the federal State Targeted Response (STR) to the Opioid Crisis grant, Fargo Cass Public Health and the STR grant steering committee are hosting the Minnesota Recovery Connection’s (MRC) Recovery Coach Academy in Fargo, North Dakota. Ordinarily, MRC holds the Recovery Coach Academy in Minneapolis. Through a special agreement, the academy and its instructors will conduct a training session in Fargo April 9-13, 2018.

The goal of this training is to increase access to peer recovery support services in Cass County, ND. Robyn Litke Sall, FCPH substance abuse prevention coordinator, stated, “The benefits of peer recovery support will enhance our existing resources and we are pleased to offer this training to build capacity to help those struggling with substance use disorders in our community.”

Qualified applicants must have two years or more problem-free recovery from substance use disorders. Qualified candidates will be selected for the training based on their completed application, interview and ability to meet training guidelines. A total of 18 applicants will be selected for the academy, with preference given to those serving Cass County, ND residents.
