Roberts Street Parking Ramp - Street Impacts

Zone: DowntownWhat zone am I?

Completed

Start: June 2016

Estimated Completion: June 2017

Project Overview:

This project marks the city’s first new downtown parking ramp in more than a decade, and is a joint effort by the City of Fargo and Kilbourne Group. The Roberts Street project, called "Roberts Commons" is mixed use and includes a 450+ stall parking garage, residential space with 74 apartments and townhomes, and 9,500 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Construction will cause temporary street and parking impacts in the area.

Current Status:

Groundbreaking for the project happened in late June 2016 and 195 parking spaces have been eliminated. Construction crews are currently finishing the parking portion of the building, scheduled to open for public use in June 2017.

On-street parking has been reduced around the building to make room for construction work.

Purpose:

The ramp will serve as a convenient solution to Fargo’s current parking problem downtown by providing more spaces for the public. The multi-use space will also help spur economic and business development growth in the downtown area.

Parking at the ramp will be mainly reserved by nearby businesses, but there will be 50 hourly spots open for the public during the day ($1.50/hour). After 5PM and on weekends, all spaces at the ramp will be open and free to the public.

Location:

Corner of Roberts Street and 2nd Avenue North

Timeline:

The parking ramp is expected to open in June 2017.
