As of July 9, Fargo Cass Public Health has administered 48,144 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Fargo Cass Public Health offers COVID-19 vaccine during Tuesday walk-in clinics and by appointment in the immunization program. Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 remains the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community from the impacts of the virus. The combined education and vaccination efforts of community partners has Cass County sitting at a 59.4% one-dose coverage rate – let’s keep that momentum going: Vax UP ND, for all of us.

Permits for the first half of 2021 are up 20% over 2020, which was the second highest year on record. Living units are up 7%. The largest increase sector is in new commercial projects, which has a valuation increase of 300% on $169 million in projects. The Inspections Department continues its adoption process of the 2021 set of codes at the Board of Appeals meetings. All are welcome to attend and participation is encouraged. Anyone can submit a code amendment or request to modify and present testimony at the meetings.

The Fargo Police Department has partnered with Silver Lining Creamery to promote bike and pedestrian safety in the Downtown Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Zone. Bicyclists and skateboarders found to be walking their bicycle or carrying their skateboard in the safety zone may be rewarded with a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream at Silver Lining Creamery located in downtown Fargo.

Terry Hogan started with the City of Fargo on July 6 as the City’s first Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He looks forward to working with City staff, boards, commissions and the Fargo community in his exciting new role. Welcome to Fargo, Terry!

Today, the Fargo Police Department celebrated the promotions of Assistant Chief Travis Stefonowicz, and Captains Chris Helmick and George Vinson with a promotions ceremony. Police Chief David Zibolski said, “Collectively as the Executive Team at the Fargo Police Department, we look forward to excellence in community policing, partnerships and collaborations with residents, businesses and visitors. I am excited about the future and look forward to our new Executive Team members helping foster and guide the next generation of leaders in their growth paths at the Fargo Police Department.”
