On September 8, the Fargo Park District, River Keepers, Cass County Soil Conservation District and The City of Fargo will host Reforest the Red from noon to 7 p.m. More than 3,000 new tree seedlings will be planted. The event will take place at the Red River Trail/Ponte’s Park area at 1533 South River Road.

A “Birding for Kids with Audubon Dakota” event will be held outdoors at the Main Library September 11 starting at 10 a.m. for children ages 7 to 12, weather permitting. The event will teach children how to search out and identify different birds common to our region.

World yo-yo champion John Narum will visit the Main Library September 18 at 11 a.m. to perform his award winning yo-yo tricks. The outdoor event is open to all ages.

The Fargo Police Department held its annual Fargo United Event on August 28. The Community Engagement Team and members of the community came together and had a great time. Fargo PD welcomed 13 new officers today. The officers recently graduated from the Fargo Police Academy and we are excited to see the great things they will do for the department and community. Good luck and welcome to the team.

We have two videos tonight. First, the Communications Team has a status update on the demolition of the Mid America Steel site; then we will look at the collaborative smart energy features of the RoCo parking ramp in Downtown Fargo.
