As part of the “Color Our World” summer reading challenge, the Fargo Public Library is holding a Library Card Design Contest and artists of all ages are encouraged to take part. Submission categories are: Children, age 12 and younger; Teen, ages 13 to 18; and Adult, ages 19 and older. Artists can submit one design, and there is no fee to enter the contest. Winning designs will become limited edition Fargo Public Library cards.
Entry forms, rules and guidelines are available at any Fargo Public Library location starting Monday, June 9, and online at fargolibrary.org/LibraryCardContest. All designs must be original and free of copyright restrictions. Entry forms must accompany all card design submissions, and participants can submit entries by July 31, 2025, in person at any Fargo Public Library location, online at fargolibrary.wufoo.com/forms/library-card-design-contest-2025 or by mail to Fargo Public Library, Attention Melisa Duncan, 101 4th St. N., Fargo, ND 58102. No late submissions will be accepted.
Library staff will select the finalists; the public will vote on the final winning designs. One winner from each category will have their design made into limited edition library cards. Winning designs will be announced and the winning limited-edition library cards will be available starting January 1, 2026, as part of the library’s 125th anniversary celebration.
Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public.
