During the morning of January 8, Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and other local mayors participated in the 2026 State of the Cities event hosted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. In his remarks, Mayor Mahoney highlighted Fargo’s accomplishments over the past year and outlined a clear blueprint for continued excellence in 2026. In conjunction with The Chamber event, The City of Fargo released its State of the City video that outlines three guiding principles for Fargo:
• COMMITMENT
o Serving Fargo with Integrity, Consistency and Care Every Day
• CONNECTION
o Building Belonging Through Shared Experiences, Trust and Community Pride
• COLLABORATION
o Working Together Across Jurisdictions to Deliver Strong Regional Solutions
The State of the City video highlights Fargo as a community built on service, neighborly spirit and a shared vision for the future.
"As we step into 2026, I’m reminded how far Fargo has come – and what continues to drive us forward: the residents and businesses who believe in this community,” Mayor Mahoney stated. “2025 stood out as a year filled with connection, collaboration and a commitment to service, through projects that improved daily life, investments that enhanced public safety and partnerships that united our region. As a new year begins, Fargo remains focused on purposeful growth, streamlined operations and world-class City services. Together, we are writing Fargo’s next chapter and building a community where everyone can thrive.”
