The City of Fargo recognizes and celebrates donors that contribute to local charities during Giving Hearts Day.

WHEREAS, Giving Hearts Day serves to elevate the profile of the nonprofit sector across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota while empowering donors to maximize the impact of their contributions; and

WHEREAS, This initiative stands as a premier example of private-sector leadership supporting the vital organizations that enhance the quality of life for our neighbors; and

WHEREAS, The charitable sector provides the essential programs and resources necessary to foster independence and long-term self-sufficiency for individuals and families; and

WHEREAS, The sustainability of these life-changing services relies upon a consistent influx of financial support, dedicated volunteers and donated goods; and

WHEREAS, Hundreds of regional charities have united for this 24-hour event to inspire collective generosity through GivingHeartsDay.org.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Dr. Timothy J. Mahoney, Mayor of the City of Fargo, North Dakota, do hereby proclaim February 12, 2026, to be

GIVING HEARTS DAY

in the City of Fargo and call upon our public officials, business leaders and residents to observe this day through active participation; to honor the dedicated nonprofit professionals and volunteers who sustain our community; and to champion the spirit of generosity by contributing time or resources to local charities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of The City of Fargo, North Dakota, to be affixed this 12th day of February, 2026.
