As part of the 2023 One Book, One Community reading project, the Fargo Public Library will host Rivers as the Thread: Considerations from Hudson Bay Bound with Dr. Tess Varner on Thursday, Oct. 5, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Main Library.
The event will center on the idea that rivers can act as the thread that binds and connects people together in inseparable community. Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Women’s and Gender Studies at Concordia College Dr. Varner will lead the discussion of the themes of this year’s One Book, One Community title, Hudson Bay Bound, and how they relate to the school of philosophical thought called deep ecology.
