December 1st is the 35th commemoration of World AIDS Day and this year’s theme is “World AIDS Day 35: Remember and Commit” and pays tribute to those lost to HIV and AIDS. The clinic at Fargo Cass Public Health offers free HIV testing year-round.
All three Library locations have Mitten Trees and staff are accepting new or handmade mittens as well as hats and scarves of any size to provide to members of the community who need them most. Donated items can also be dropped off at the Main Library’s Circulation Desk during regular Library hours.
The Fargo Police Department and MATBUS are participating in the 15th Annual Stuff the Bus. Donations will be collected for the YWCA Emergency Shelter, Red River Children’s Advocacy Center and Police Department’s Community Engagement Team. The bus will be parked at various locations December 6th and 7th and will be parked at the Police Department on December 6th from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Please consider stopping by to place donations on the MATBUS holiday bus.
The Annual Drinking Water Taste Test was held in October at the North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference in Grand Forks. Fargo won the award for Best Tasting Drinking Water in North Dakota for 2023 and is now eligible to compete in the national best tasting water competition in June in Anaheim, California.
