The City of Fargo and Fargo Cass Public Health will co-host a special documentary screening of “Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness” on Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at the Fargo Theatre. A panel discussion is scheduled to immediately follow the screening and will feature James Mathy, Milwaukee County Housing Administrator and author of “Milwaukee County’s Plan to End Chronic Homelessness” and other local leaders. The documentary showcases how two large cities in America have managed to tackle homelessness, and includes commentary and interviews from service providers, those with lived experience and policymakers, all of whom were asked the question, “How can this country solve homelessness in a comprehensive way?” This unique event is open to the public and is a follow-up to the series of conversations that took place in February, facilitated by Mr. Mathy. RSVPs are strongly encouraged, but not required to attend. RSVPs can be made at EventBrite.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the Beyond the Bridge team will travel nationwide on a 30-city screening tour, with the goal of changing the national discourse on solutions to homelessness. Each screening event will include post-screening panels and Q&As, calls-to-action and follow-up activities for audience members, and the opportunity for community members to discuss, together, how they can begin addressing homelessness in their local communities.
