I Heart #FarMore Fargo Heart Sign
The City of Fargo

Installed in 2020, the I Heart #FarMore Fargo Sign stands as a bold symbol of civic pride and local identity. Conceived by Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and designed by Fargo’s Communications and Governmental Affairs team, the bright blue sculpture invites people to literally step into what makes Fargo unique.
Shaped like the state of North Dakota with a heart cutout at its center, the 15-foot-wide by 10-foot-tall landmark sits at the intersection of Second Avenue and Fourth Street North just outside Fargo City Hall. Strategically placed for visibility and accessibility, it joins beloved public art like the downtown bison statues and the “Sodbuster” sculpture outside the Fargo Public Library.
Created in partnership with local fabricator Office Sign Co., the installation was funded using non-utilized funding from the COVID-19 pandemic, turning an unexpected pause into a lasting mark of community spirit.
Part of a broader commitment to public arts, the sign reflects Fargo’s creative momentum. Since 2015, the City has supported more than 50 public art projects all contributing to a metro that’s welcoming, resilient and expressive.
More than just a photo opportunity, the "I Heart #FarMore Fargo Sign" captures what it means to belong in Fargo where the heart of The City keeps beating for its people.
